Agility for the Search and Rescue dog

In order to negotiate potential abnormal/adverse conditions that may be encountered on a search mission, the canine must have specific skills and overcome some of its natural instincts. The canine should be able to approach such conditions in a calm and controlled manner and negotiate obstacles without physical aide from its handler.

The VSRDA Agility Course

In 2010, VSRDA began construction of a new Agility Course for our dogs. We built every element from scratch, and the instructions for the equipment is below. The course was “complete” in 2011, but we are always adding to it. Our newest additions are the corrugated black PVC tunnels.
