Virginia Search and Rescue Dog Association (VSRDA)

The Virginia Search and Rescue Dog Association (VSRDA) is the Southeast's oldest air scenting wilderness search dog unit. VSRDA is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at no charge to the requesting agency. VSRDA is a member of the American Rescue Dog Association (ARDA) the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR), and the Commonwealth of Virginia Search and Rescue Council (VASARCO).

K-9 Alert Search and Rescue Dogs

Based in the Richmond, Virginia area, K-9 Alert Search and Rescue Dogs, Inc was originally organized in March, 1989. The group was formed to help fill a geographic gap in Search and Rescue (SAR) dog resources in central Virginia. K-9 Alert is a member of the Virginia Search and Rescue Council and operates as a state resource under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.

Greater Atlantic Rescue Dogs (GARD)

Greater Atlantic Rescue Dogs (GARD) is an all-volunteer Search, Rescue and Recovery organization. GARD uses specially trained dogs to find lost or missing people in wilderness, rural or disaster environments. GARD is formally recognized by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) as a state resource for search, rescue and recovery operations. GARD is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Blue and Gray Search and Rescue Dogs

Blue and Gray is a professional volunteer wilderness Search and Rescue organization serving the Mid-Atlantic region. Blue and Gray is a member of the Virginia Search and Rescue Council and operates as a state resource under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.

Tidewater Search and Rescue

Tidewater Search and Rescue (TSAR) is an all-volunteer Search, Rescue and Recovery organization. TSAR provides specially trained professional volunteers to find lost or missing people in wilderness, rural or disaster environments. We train and employ Ground Support, Field Team Sign Cutters, K9 and Search Management teams in a wide variety of environments and weather conditions, including farmland, wilderness, and urban areas.
