We also require that you attend several trainings before applying.  We have limited space as we pair applicants with mentors. To become an active member, you are required to fill out an application, as well as a background check authorization, and submit a $60 application fee.

Once your application has been submitted, you are considered an applicant. You will remain in this status for a six-month probationary period.

VSRDA Team Capabilities

1. acquire/maintain a current Advanced First Aid and CPR certifications
2. attend classes in search strategy & tactics and scent theory
3. learn radio communications and etiquette
4. certify as a Field Team Member, FTM, per the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM).
