 Members of VSRDA participated and enjoyed a day in the sun in Caroline County at the 1st Annual Dog Day Festival on October 4th. It was a day of fun and learning as people and their many dogs roamed and played among booths and game-stations. The day ended with a spectacular raffle of doggy prizes!

Christmas Parade in Warrenton
 VSRDA members participated in the 2008 "Mothers of Wonder" Christmas Parade in Warrenton, VA. These public appearances give us an opportunity to get exposure and educate people, even kids, about who we are and what we do. Children get a chance to see the dogs in their working clothes (usually vests) and sometimes even pet the dogs.

 Three members of VSRDA participated in and got new certifications in the Virginia Department of Emergency Management's (VDEM) Ground SAR College (GSAR)over two weekends in October and November! Cathy Hershfield and Cyruc Culp both passed their Field Team Sign Cutting (FTS) class! They both already have certifications in Field Team Member (FTM) and Managing Land Search Operations (MLSO) as well. Victoria McNerney also passed her test and is now a Field Team Member (FTM) with VDEM!

"Your Dogs' Best Friend" - TV Spot with VSRDA!
"VSRDA's youngest and newest canine, Sirius, appeared on the cable access show "Your Dogs' Best Friend" hosted by Lloyd Aguero. VSRDA member David Wyttenbach and his young pup, Sirius, appeared in a two part show where they talked about the world of volunteer K9 SAR.
