VSRDA Member Teresa MacPherson, deployed to Haiti as a member of the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Team, also called Virginia - Task Force 1, to assist in the search for live victims.
VA-TF1 is credited with rescuing 16 people trapped in the rubble in Haiti, after being deployed for 15-days. Most notably, VA-TF1 rescued a United Nations guard, hours after setting to work in Haiti. To see video footage of the rescue, click here.
Teresa has been working in Search & Rescue for almost 17-years, and has 3 operational dogs with VSRDA, Banks, Georgia & Keys.
Fox News of DC interviewed Teresa as she returned home with more than 100 rescue workers from VA-TF1. (see video). MacPherson was also interviwed by ABC News affiliate, WJLA, in her preperation to deploy to Haiti on 14 Jan 2010. (see video).
